This is one of the few tourist resorts in the north of Ibiza and which has all kinds of amenities and services to meet the needs of visitors. And here is locates one of the most attractive beaches on the north coast: Port de Sant Miquel.

This natural port that has little of ‘port’ but much of ‘natural’, in the past was a place where agricultural goods were exported from and was also used by smugglers that took advantage of the recesses of the coast, making them perfect hiding places. Now the time has passed and this beautiful corner has become a perfect place to spend a day of sun and sand in the placid waters of the bay.

Here we give you five ideas to help you make the most of this beautiful corner.

A very varied coastline
This part of the coast is characterized by its wide variety of beaches. All kinds of beaches for everyone’s taste. Port de Sant Miquel gives way to more hidden beach coves and which are a must see as they are the most captivating corners of this area. The first beach we find is the main one, which dominates the view of the bay and has all kinds of services and amenities that make it ideal for those who want to spend a quiet and peaceful day at the beach with the family. If you explore the coast on the south side of the main beach you will reach a beautiful hidden cove, Caló des Multons, a small beach cove dock with a few fishermen’s huts and an impressive seabed worth exploring. If you keep following the path you’ll reach the last beach, Pas de s’Illa, given this name due to that this beach is a sand strip that connects the nearby Illa des Bosc isle. We can actually say that Port de Sant Miquel is three beaches in one.

A ‘sardinada’ menu
In the little hidden beach of Caló des des Multons there is a cozy little beach bar with a friendly atmosphere that makes you want to stay forever. This beautiful place decorated in white and blue with bohemian touches is called Chiringuito Utopía and every Friday and Saturday, from noon till night time you can enjoy a wonderful ‘sardinada’ (sardine barbecue), the perfect dish for the summer days on the coast of Ibiza. And if you’re lucky you can also enjoy some live music in the evening, because at Chiringuito Utopía they often organize live music performances.

Discover the seabed of Port de Sant Miquel
If you really want to delve into the wonders that this part of the island has for you, one of the best ways is to put on your goggles and go snorkeling or diving around the beautiful seabed in the area. To help you do this you can go to Diving Center San Miguel where they will guide you step by step in this adventure. A day of diving in the waters of Sant Miquel will allow you to discover the beauty of the marine fauna and flora of Ibiza where among the great diversity of sea life you’ll see, we can highlight the Posidonia Oceanica seagrass meadows, a marine plant protagonist of the sea life of the island.

Boat excursion around Sant Miquel
We have already mentioned that this part of the island has a very varied and unique coastline, which is why there are many ways to explore it. One of the most fun ways to do this is by boat, as you can move from beach to beach very easily and at your own pace. You have the option of going on your own boat in order to fully enjoy a day at sea, but if you want a more simple plan that also allows you to see this area you can hop on the ferry that goes to the nearby beach of Benirràs, an enclave of unsurpassed beauty and easier access by sea than by land, due to that in summer it gets over crowded with cars.

Cova d’en Marçà cave, an alternative option
Most touristic plans on the island focus on sun and sand, but the cliffs of Port de Sant Miquel are one of the most unique tours of the island, as here is located the cave Cova d’en Marçà. This guided visit in the cave is a 40 minute tour through the stalactites and stalagmites and discover in the inside remains of the prehistoric past and a spectacular setting of lights and water that make it an unforgettable excursion. You will get to know the stories of ancient smugglers who used this special place as a hideout for the goods. In short, a different and attractive side of the island.
