Visit Es Portixol beach, an incredible cove in the north of Ibiza

The small cove of Es Portitxol is one of the most hidden beaches in the island of Ibiza. To reach it you have to walk for about 30 minutes through a lovely path that goes along the coast, letting you enjoy the beautiful views of the area.

To get to Es Portitxol we have to drive towards Sant Miquel and get off at the road to Sant Mateu until we reach the residential area “Isla Blanca” and go through. Once we see that the pavement of the street becomes of poorer quality we have to park the car and start our walk down. It’s recommended to take some water and wear proper footwear.

The view you’ll see from above is already superb. From there we’ll see a little dirt trail marked with a wire fence. We must stay all the time on this track. From here we can see spectacular views of the north coast of Ibiza. Although it’s a dirt road, it’s perfectly marked.

By this point, among the typically Mediterranean pines, we can already see Es Portitxol with its characteristic fisherman’s huts.We are getting closer. This is an incredible beach cove with turquoise waters, like a real pool.We are in Es Portitxol now. It’s a fishermen spot, where they have their fishermen’s huts. The atmosphere is typically Ibizan traditional: Fishermen with their fishing boats. The huts are situated surrounding the cove, with the shape of a crescent, in the middle of an incredible scenery and usually very quiet.

It is ideal for those seeking quiet and remote places where you can relax. Highly recommended for hiking lovers. Once in the cove it’s advisable to wear sandals or other appropriate footwear to enter the water because it’s a pebble beach cove, both, outside, and inside the sea. Ideal for those who enjoy snorkeling above a beautiful seabed.
