The north of the island is known for being one of the quietest areas in Ibiza, the place where you can still find the \u2018real Ibiza\u2019, the one that still maintains its customs, offers pine green landscapes dotted with traditional white houses and with the less crowded beach coves of the coast. Knowing that there are still places like this, it is well worth visiting and enjoying a different experience to what one would expected from Ibiza. A day to take life easy, sip by sip.<\/p>\n

In The Morning\u2026 Breakfast<\/h2>\n
To start off the day, nothing better than a good tonic breakfast at Can Planells. No need to go too far to enjoy a delicious feast based on the best Ibizan produce: olive oil from Can Garrovers, homemade jam from Can Malacosta, sobrasada, cheese\u2026 \u00a0As you can see, all local foods and if we add to this the fruits and vegetables brought directly from our garden. Sure this will be one of the best breakfasts you can have on the island, all in the shade of carob and fruit trees that surround the lovely terrace of Can Planells.<\/div>\n
If you decide to go on and discover the north of Ibiza on a Sunday, be sure to go for a stroll in Sant Joan as there\u2019s a fantastic craft market with typical products and foods of the island you can enjoy all morning, as well as live music on special occasions. Definetely, a great way to start the day!<\/div>\n

In The Daytime\u2026 The Beach<\/h2>\n
With the daytime heat, it’s time to head to one of the most interesting parts of the north coast of the island, the Port de Sant Miquel, a fishermen corner that hides several coves, each one with its own distinctive touch. The main cove, is a vast sandy beach with all kinds of services at your disposal: sunbeds, watersports, lifeguard, restaurants\u2026 The perfect choice for those who don\u2019t want to worry about anything. If you follow the small path on the left side of the beach, you will reach the cozy cove of Cal\u00f3 des Multons, a small corner of crystalline waters where you\u2019ll find the fun beach bar Chiringuito Utop\u00eda. Across the bay of Port de Sant Miquel you\u2019ll find the last beach, Pas de s’Illa, a vast sandy strip which links the islet of Illa des Bosc with Ibiza\u2019s coast. Here you\u2019ll find a typical beach bar and a few sunbeds so you can enjoy the bay from another point of view. You can also rent a Paddle Surf and tour the whole area so you can enjoy even more every detail of the coast.<\/div>\n
Of course, sooner or later you\u2019ll probably get hungry, and here you also have the chance to try authentic Ibizan cuisine, prepared with the best fresh seafood. For this, we recommend Port de Balansat, a restaurant with a lot of experience in typical Ibizan cuisine, especially the Bullit de Peix, one of its most popular dishes made with fresh Mediterranean rock fish, and boiled with potatoes and green beans and finally served, after straining the broth, with a thin layer of aioli. This dish is usually accompanied with \u201carroz a banda\u201d as the second course.<\/div>\n

In The Evening\u2026 Sunset<\/h2>\n
Without a doubt, the sunset is one of the highlights of any trip to Ibiza, and in the north you’ll be able to see some of the best ones on the island. One of the most recommended spots to watch it is from the majestic cliffs of Na Xamena, near the village of Sant Miquel. This beautiful place is a huge window to the see whose height will definitely amaze you. Once you take your seat, you’ll see how the warm colors of the sun hide behind the ocean horizon, the most beautiful picture that Ibiza gives us every day.<\/div>\n

At Night\u2026 Dinner<\/h2>\n
And to round off the day, we recommend dining at one of the most charming villages of the interior of the island: Santa Gertrudis. This village full of life is visited by all kinds of people looking for a cozy place to dine. The vast variety of restaurants in the area is its main attraction, but it hasn\u2019t lost any of its traditional small-village charm because of it. It is also a great place to do some shopping, especially clothing and decoration, as in its streets you\u2019ll find several shops and boutiques that sell all kinds of garments of unique styles.<\/div>\n
For dinner it is highly recommended to go to any of the restaurant on the church plaza, where there\u2019s usually more atmosphere. Es Cant\u00f3 and Es Olivans have a vocation to bring you the best tapas and a wide range of typical dishes, such as \u2018frita de pulpo\u2019 (fried octopus with potatoes and vegetables) and \u2018ensalada payesa\u2019 (typical Ibizan salad). On the other hand the Bar Costa, one of the most legendary bars from the hippie era, offers the tastiest Spanish cold-cuts and baguettes sandwiches on the island. And if you want something more sophisticated, try Bistro La Plaza restaurant, with a refined French cuisine influence that will definitely surprise you. Anyhow, Bon profit!<\/div>\n
