From April 20th to May 3rd the island of Ibiza is celebrating the second edition of the GastroJornadas, a special event where the restaurants of the island will offer the best of its cuisine, especially local dishes.<\/p>\n

Enjoy a delicious menu with all the essence of Ibiza either on the terrace of a beachfront restaurant or at any of the rural restaurants housed in traditional \u2018casas payesas\u2019 in the countryside, this initiative is to promote all the taste of the Ibizan sea and countryside through delicious dishes that stand between tradition and innovation. The various participating restaurants offer their best dishes at reasonable prices giving the opportunity to learn more about the culinary culture of the island. Tasty full course menus at \u20ac25. And also, if you prefer to just grab a bite, you can choose tapas accompanied by a fine wine or beer for only \u20ac5. A perfect occasion for eating out and take advantage of the pleasant spring temperatures while enjoying a lovely meal at an outdoor terrace.<\/p>\n

This year, several restaurants in the northern part of the island will participate with delicious dishes prepared with special care to celebrate the\u00a0GastroJornadas<\/a>. Here we recommend some of them where you can enjoy authentic Mediterranean cuisine from the island.<\/p>\n

\n<\/a>Restaurant specialised in fish and seafood cuisine located in the middle of Cala de Sant Vicent. A perfect place for tasting the popular “Guisat of peix” and the delicious lamb raised in Ibiza.<\/p>\n

Ideal for fish and seafood lovers, as the \u2018bullit de peix\u2019 with \u2018arroz a banda\u2019 will be their flagship dish for the GastroJornadas 2015.<\/p>\n

Can Cires<\/strong><\/span>
\n<\/a>In the heart of the village of Sant Mateu there you\u2019ll find this spectacular house with a cozy garden where you can enjoy the taste of GastroJornadas. In this case, Can Cires only offers tapas but you have seven varieties to choose from where we can highlight the traditional \u2018frita de pulpo\u2019 (fried octopus with vegetables) made with fresh vegetables from the \u2018mercado pay\u00e9s\u2019 (the peasant’s market).<\/p>\n

S\u2019Illot<\/strong><\/span><\/a>
\nWith stunning views over the bay of s’Illot des Rencl\u00ed you\u2019ll find this small and charming restaurant hidden among the pines trees. Here the GastroJornadas are celebrated with special starters such \u00a0as “molls” (red mullets) and fried “gerret” (picarel fish), typical of the island.<\/p>\n

Can Caus<\/strong><\/span>
\n<\/a>This restaurant is housed in a traditional Ibicenco country house on the road to Santa Gertrudis which offers in its dishes the essence of the taste of the countryside. Can Caus is perfect for enjoying a delicious roasted lamb on the GastroJoradas 2015.<\/p>\n

Portes del Cel<\/strong><\/span>
\n<\/a>On the edge of the viewpoint of Ses Portes del Cel we find this little restaurant specialised in local game cuisine. The stunning views to the west are the best accompaniment for this GastroJornadas menu which its main dish is a tasty \u2018Arroz de Matanzas\u2019, a rice dish made with Ibicenco free range chicken and pork.<\/p>\n
